We’re proud to announce The 6th Annual OVM Charity Bash presented by OVM’s Legum Legacy raised a record-breaking $36,190! The event held on September 19th at The Shack on 8th Street had more than 500 attendees- each of which donated a minimum of $35 to one of the five selected charities.
“This year’s Charity Bash was a huge success – we had a record number of attendees, and ended up shattering previous years records, ” said CEO Adam Newman. “This was the sixth year in a row we’ve done the Charity Bash, but the first year doing so as OVM’s Legum Legacy, our own 501(c)(3). Doing so allows us much more flexibility in supporting more local charitable organizations”.
The Charity Bash raised $18,095 through a combination of ticket sales, apparel sales, and donations from the community. OVM Financial then matched that with an additional $18,095.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Norfolk– $16,831.90
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk (RMHC-Norfolk) keeps families close to children facing medical challenges by providing lodging for families of seriously ill children.
WE ARE VB– $10,892.43
We are VB is committed to building a supportive community for under-privileged students and their families, strengthen self-esteem of students and promote continuing education.
Edmarc Hospice for Children– $3,638.50
Edmarc seeks to ease the trauma of a child’s illness or death, and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss and bereavement on families in Hampton Roads one child at a time
Hero Kids Foundation– $2,818.56
Hero Kids Foundation is dedicated to serving those who serve at home by utilizing animal-assisted therapies and nature based activities.
United Way of South Hampton Roads– $1,998.61
The Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund has been established by the United Way to benefit the victims from the tragedy on 5/31/19.
