OVM’s Legum Legacy board members presented a check for $5,700 to the American Cancer Society following our October “Pink Out” fundraiser for breast cancer awareness month!
The check was presented by President Adam Newman, Vice President Kim Markham, and board member Chip Simkins to Tye Lambert, Senior Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society, on Giving Tuesday (November 30, 2021).
“We are like a big family here, and we have had employees here struck with this horrible disease. The notion of taking action to support breast cancer research speaks volumes about what kind of company we are all a part of,” said OVM Financial Closing Manager Crystal Zelasko.
OVM Financial staff kicked off the campaign by raising funds during October’s Pink Out celebration. Team members were invited to purchase a limited-edition pink OVM shirt for a $20 donation to benefit breast cancer research and awareness.
Following the Pink-Out event, the OVM’s Legum Legacy community contributed to the campaign to extend OVM Financial’s fundraising efforts beyond the office.
At the end of October, The OVM Financial leadership team matched all donations to arrive at the final contribution.
“It means a lot to the OVM Financial team to support this cause as we’ve tragically lost two team members (and close friends) to this terrible disease,” said Processing Manager Kitty Roghair. “I hope that this will bring attention to the cause and inspire others to remember to get preventative care each year.”
